Akola Project

Gigis Bluffton - Tuesday, July 01, 2014

We were extremely excited to discover The Akola Project, a line of beautiful handmade jewelry that gives back to the people who make it. To date, the sales of the jewelry have employed over 200 women in Uganda. It's a social business that empowers women through training, education, employment, support, and leadership.

Did we mention the jewelry is all that AND stylish? It's beautiful!

Since 2004, the organization lead by Brittany Merrill Underwood, has successfully built a three-story orphanage, drilled 23 water wells, constructed 2 vocational training centers, and created a thriving business for women. We just love the cause that supports women in need.

We adore that we can support a cause like this when we can also provide our customers with beautiful and stylish jewelry.

With a variety of colors to choose from and pendants, we think you will love this accessory and feel good about your purchase that helps women in Uganda.  We know we do!  Come in and check it out at Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton
