Lowcountry Formal Attire

Gigis Bluffton - Wednesday, June 04, 2014

Are you attending a wedding or special event this summer? We recently had a family wedding and are going to a few more nuptial celebrations this Summer.  Attire for a Lowcountry wedding can really vary! From a casual, tented backyard wedding with a bluegrass band and oyster roast to a black tie, formal affair at an oceanfront hotel, we see all styles of weddings here in Bluffton and Hilton Head.  As a guest, what should you wear?

Your first step in selecting what to wear is to determine the style of the event. The level of formality in the invitation, as well as the venue itself, will tell you a lot about the wedding.  No matter what it is, Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton has a great selection of formal attire to check out!

We adore this long pink, strapless chiffon dress on the top left. The pleats are incredibly flattering!  A lace cocktail dress can't be beat, too!  On the bottom, we are showing two white dresses here. Don't scream out loud! When worn with the right shoes, bag and jacket/shawl, it can be okay to wear white to a wedding.  It all depends on your comfort level and how you accessorize the dress. In the middle on the bottom, we are showing a gold sequence cocktail dress that looks great with a killer pair of heels.

If you are looking for a little black dress, we have several from which to choose. Though we don't see a lot of black this season in the Lowcountry, it's a safe bet and always looks great once you find the right one.  It's also a great thing to stock in your wardrobe.

Gigi's Girls can help you find the perfect dress for any formal occasion you are off to this summer! Whatever the type of wedding or occasion, you are likely to find something that fits the event here at Gigi's. Tell us what formal styles you are loving here or share them on our Facebook page
