Jewelry Trend- Long, Layered Necklaces

Gigis Bluffton - Monday, March 09, 2015

This Spring and Summer a huge trend that's on fleek (the quality of being perfect; cool) is to layer necklaces. After a few seasons of large oversized necklaces, you may feel a bit naked or bare, but minimalist jewelry can actually make you look effortlessly put together. A combination of delicate, simple pieces is very casually chic and classic. Take a look at some pictures below that I found on Pinterest.

Here at Gigi's Boutique, we have what you need to pull this look together. If layering feels overwhelming, we even have some one piece necklaces that combine the look of three necklaces in one.  Or, if you want to personalize and have fun layering just follow these 3 steps:

1) Start with a collar/ choker necklace. This necklace should be the shortest and fall in between your neck and collar bone.

2) Add a necklace that's a little longer. Look for a bar or something horizontal.

3) Add a longer necklace with a pendant.

... and Viola'! That's all there is to it! So, have fun with your jewelry this Spring/ Summer and try layering your necklaces. It will add an effortless, stylish look to your outfit.

Melinda Maria Jewelry

Gigis Bluffton - Wednesday, October 29, 2014

At Gigi's, we are not always on the lookout for the hottest trends in fashion but also jewelry!  We love it when we find a hot new line like this. New at our store this week is Melinda Maria Jewelry!  Her jewelry is worn by Julia Roberts, Christina Applegate, Vanessa Hudgins, and literally hundreds of others of celebrities.

Much more important to us though than being worn by celebrities is the quality of this jewelry line. The gold jewelry is brushed with 14K gold so it's truly gold and won't tarnish. While substantial, the line is also really beautifully delicate.  For bracelets, there are a variety of cuffs, bangles, and chains.  For earrings, there are drops, studded ones, dangly ones and hoops.  So many great options! We can't get enough of the necklaces too. All are incredibly unique and fun to play with!  Here's a sneak of what's new in store!

This fashion forward, affordable luxury jewelry line is just what Gigi's Girls are looking for and we are excited to bring this celebrity jeweler to the Lowcountry.  This line makes a great holiday gift, too! (Did we just say "holiday gift?"!) Why yes, yes we did!

Akola Project

Gigis Bluffton - Tuesday, July 01, 2014

We were extremely excited to discover The Akola Project, a line of beautiful handmade jewelry that gives back to the people who make it. To date, the sales of the jewelry have employed over 200 women in Uganda. It's a social business that empowers women through training, education, employment, support, and leadership.

Did we mention the jewelry is all that AND stylish? It's beautiful!

Since 2004, the organization lead by Brittany Merrill Underwood, has successfully built a three-story orphanage, drilled 23 water wells, constructed 2 vocational training centers, and created a thriving business for women. We just love the cause that supports women in need.

We adore that we can support a cause like this when we can also provide our customers with beautiful and stylish jewelry.

With a variety of colors to choose from and pendants, we think you will love this accessory and feel good about your purchase that helps women in Uganda.  We know we do!  Come in and check it out at Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton

Bourbon and Boweties

Gigis Bluffton - Thursday, June 26, 2014

We are thrilled to be carrying some new jewelry lines at Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton. We couldn't resist the stackable bangles from Bourbon & Boweties.  The unrefined chunky stones juxtaposed with the delicate gold band make for a visually interesting piece!  Designed so you can wear multiple bangles at a time, these bangles look best stacked. Layer them up for a fun look or wear alone for a classic look.  You can't go wrong!

We love the eye popping colors from turquoise to lime green to bright pink.  For a more classic look, we have plenty of pearls.  And for those that like to incorporate their faith into their fashion, there are several variations of crosses from which to choose!  What's your favorite?

Since August of 2012, over 200 stores across the United States now carry this Southern designed line of jewelry and now Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton is one of them!  The line has been followed by Lily Pulitzer, worn by Katie Couric on the cover of People Magazine, Desiree Hartsock, and thousands of women across the globe.  Learn more about the line and shop for your favorite in our store!
