Jewelry Trend- Long, Layered Necklaces

Gigis Bluffton - Monday, March 09, 2015

This Spring and Summer a huge trend that's on fleek (the quality of being perfect; cool) is to layer necklaces. After a few seasons of large oversized necklaces, you may feel a bit naked or bare, but minimalist jewelry can actually make you look effortlessly put together. A combination of delicate, simple pieces is very casually chic and classic. Take a look at some pictures below that I found on Pinterest.

Here at Gigi's Boutique, we have what you need to pull this look together. If layering feels overwhelming, we even have some one piece necklaces that combine the look of three necklaces in one.  Or, if you want to personalize and have fun layering just follow these 3 steps:

1) Start with a collar/ choker necklace. This necklace should be the shortest and fall in between your neck and collar bone.

2) Add a necklace that's a little longer. Look for a bar or something horizontal.

3) Add a longer necklace with a pendant.

... and Viola'! That's all there is to it! So, have fun with your jewelry this Spring/ Summer and try layering your necklaces. It will add an effortless, stylish look to your outfit.

How To: Spring Transition

Gigis Bluffton - Monday, January 26, 2015

With the excitement of new Spring fashion around the corner, it can be bitter sweet to say goodbye to your favorite Winter pieces. But no need to be blue just yet, with a few tweaks you can transition them into Spring.

1. Distressed Denim. This trend will actually be continuing into Spring. Holla! Try pairing a loose, silk top with these. Step out of your boots and closed toed shoes and try a sandal, peep toe, or pointy heel.

2. Winter Coat. Weather it's a coat or fur vest, it for sure can take you through the chilly days of January and February. For Spring, try it over nautical stripes or silk dresses. fur vest would       also look great over this stripe dress.

 3. Chunky Sweater. So soft and comfy, how can we ever give up a staple in our wardrobe??? For Spring, try it over a dress or maxi skirt. If it's a bit long, you can always add a belt.

4. Heavy Scarf: Scarves are the icing on the cake. They can make an instant outfit. By pairing the right shades with your Winter scarf, it can easily transition into Spring. If the scarf has dark colors, balance them will light ones in your outfit. Like white or cream pants. Or, have fun with texture by mixing a knitted scarf with a light, silk blouse.

A quick tip for an instant transition?… paint your nails! We love our Butter London Nail Polish, and look to them for all the newest and coolest polish colors. Check out this photo of the linear look Kate Spade has going on.

Nude Shoes

Gigis Bluffton - Thursday, April 24, 2014

This Spring there are a lot of vibrant colors, prints, and patterns in fashion. Even handbags have their share of color and designs. Choosing the right shoe to go with your outfit this season can be difficult.  Enter your best solution: a nude shoe.  Gigi's Boutique in Bluffton has you covered with a variety of nude shoes -- from flats to wedges, pointy toe heels to ankle straps, we think there's something for everyone in this neutral shade.  You can't go wrong with what you pair these shoes with.  Regardless of what you choose, it will look effortlessly chic.

We love Sam Edelman's comfortable shoes at affordable prices. (Prices range on all shoes from $59-$179.) Try this flat sandal with gold ankle strap, or this wedge.

For a more formal event, choose the Sam Edelman pointy, closed toe heel.  Or choose this Lucky Brand criss-cross style for around the town.

We love both of these styles with sundresses! It's Bluffton casual at it's finest.

What about both of these styles, too?  We love the trendy shoe on the left.... it's just a little bit edgy and fun!

As you can see, we have a fairly extensive collection of shoes at Gigi's Boutique, all at a range of prices, styles and brands. Come in and shop all of our nude shoes that have just arrived, or shop any of our other shoe colors and styles. We look forward to seeing you in the store soon!
